Blog this!

February 17, 2009

I’m on a blogging break while I get my butt in shape…I am training for a 12k, and it’s not only taking up my free time, it is also killing me!!!!!!

Dec. 13, 2008

I did it!  On Oct. 30th I finished the first draft for The Fyre.  Yessss!! My goal now is to have a sendable draft by March 2009.  Is it possible?  Can I do it. I’m doubtful but hopeful.

Oct 1:

So today is my first day of the BIAM program.  It’s 5:42am. I figured I could get up early at least on the first day. Trust me though, you won’t be catching me blog this early EVER again!  Off to write about Baby Jane and her group of slayers.

September 19:

So the fall season is upon me and my Confessions of A Sassy Mama column has picked back up.  I noticed that the first edition of it isn’t as sassy as past ones.  I guess lately I haven’t felt as saucy and bold; rather I feel more contemplative and quiet.  Hmmmm….what does this mean for the future of Sassy Mama?  I don’t know, but I do know that I am so thrilled that October and my Book In A Month (BIAM) project is around the corner! Yahoo!

So check out September’s column and drop me a line; I love to hear from you.

April 16:

Posted all over my site is where you can find my column. There are several ways to view it.  First: go to lakegrovepres.org and click on the MOPS logo. Or go to MOPS.org and search for local groups and look for Lake Grove.  Or go in the back way at lakegrovemops.wordpress.com.

Look for this in the future: Nikki as a “Dream Manager” with Dream it–Live it!

My short essay is only up on CommonTies for another week or so.

April 8:

I have an exciting update–I’ve written the first chapter of my next book. I am so excited about it. I think I shall be smiling the entire way through it. Yahoo!

April 1:

Soon you shall be able to read my column for MOPS, “Confessions of a Sassy Mama.”  Check back with me to find out the exact website.  It is already printed locally, but within a few weeks it’ll appear online too.

On Friday, one of my short short essays found a home on Common Ties.  However, that site is not family friendly so you’ll need to email me to get the exact location.

Poetry.com voted me as one of their poets of 2007…but considering they were turned into the Better Business Bureau, I take everything they say with a grain of salt!

Happy writing!

March:

Four rejections in two days. Ouch.  Writing is one of the few careers where you do all the work on the front end and you actually may NEVER be paid for it.  But then again, that’s not why I write.  I do it because it truly does make my soul soar. However, today, my soul is not soaring as high. I think it’s well below sea level.  Hmmm….where’s a chocolate candy bar when you need one??
